“COFFEE-TALK WITH OUR SENIORS”
KUALA NERUS, 11th August - Department of Modern Languages and Communication of the Faculty of Languages and Communication (FBK) has organized a casual talk titled "Coffee Talk with Our Seniors." This event, hosted by one of the FBK lecturers, Madam Nor Jijidiana Azmi, has invited ten seniors, also known as alumni, to share their experiences of being language and communication students as well as three lecturers from FBK.
This event was conducted online through the Google Meet meeting room and live streaming on FBK’s official Facebook page. It aimed to give more exposure to the new courses in FBK, which are Bachelor of Contemporary Malay Language with Interactive Media as well as Bachelor of Public Relations with Contemporary Media.
The chit-chat session that started at 9 pm for one hour and a half had uncovered the communication and public relations field with the sharing from the alumni. Besides, the Malay language lecturers, Mr. Mohd Faradi and Madam Nazilah Mohamad have joined the session to give brief explanations and opinions on the newly introduced course. According to Mr. Faradi, the implementation of the course, which combines the Malay language and interactive media studies, is different from other universities' courses.
The sharing session by the seniors had given a remarkable contribution to this event. Most seniors ventured into the communication field and have shared many memorable experiences on how FBK’s courses helped them in their jobs and lives. One of the seniors, Mr. Nazirul Ikram, has shared the importance of public relations and how the world of work depends on it. "The new Public Relations course has a bright future since UniSZA already has networks that can secure students' internships," he added.
The event ended around 10:40 pm despite the technical problems. The host, Madam Nor Jijidiana, hoped that this event could give an insight into the newly introduced courses to the students. For further details, you may contact Nuraisyah Ain Zamri at 019-9650844 and Siti Muzdalifah at 011-12310229.
