Bicara Alumni FBK: Tips 

 

Kuala Nerus, 19 June- The Faculty of Languages and Communication Student Society (FALCOM) had organized a talk session with FBK Alumni called Bicara Alumni FBK: Tips Menghadapi Peperiksaan. The talk was held via Facebook Live on FALCOM’s official Facebook page at 11.00 a.m. This talk session was an effort to share tips when sitting for the examination.

The program started with the greetings by the moderator, Miss Siti Farhana. Then, the talk session has invited Miss Nurul Hasya Fathini and Mr. Mohamad Ali Ahsan, the alumni of BAS and BEN respectively as well as the founder and former president of STELA, as the talk panels. They shared helpful tips for students who will sit for their examinations in a few days. Many people, including BEN and BAS students from various semesters, participated in this one-hour-long session, including the committee members.

Miss Hasya Fathini shared how Arabic language students face the difficulties of practicing the Arabic language because of the environment. On top of that, she stressed that one should not feel pressured to learn the Arabic language because of no suitable environment or no one using the language. She added Arabic language students must have a dictionary as their friend and avoid asking other people if they do not understand the Arabic words. Besides, one should make an effort as best as he or she can in understanding the language.

One notable point from Mr. Ali Ahsan’s talk was the Goldilocks Rule in work smart, work hard concept. He emphasized that to be on the next level and learn efficiently, one should learn according to one’s current ability, not too hard and not too easy. “If you play badminton, a game with a four-year-old would be boring, and you will lose badly in a game with Datuk Lee Chong Wei,” was the example that Mr. Ali Ahsan gave when explaining the Goldilocks Rule.

The invited panels successfully gained the audience's attention with their tips and how they delivered the speech. Finally, the moderator ended the talk session with a quote from the former president of Indonesia, Rudy Habibie, and the event ended splendidly.
