FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

‘PALESTIN: PASCA GENCATAN SENJATA’
Kuala Nerus, 29th May: The Faculty of Languages and Communication Society (FALCOM) had organized a program called ‘Palestin: Pasca Gencatan Senjata’ or ‘Palestine: Post Ceasefire’ in collaboration with Persatuan Prihatin Warga Terpinggir Terengganu (WARGA CAKNA), Persatuan Mahasiswa Kerja Sosial UniSZA, UniSZA Wise Book Club, Kelab Citra Puisi UniSZA (KeRiSZ) and the Student Editorial and Language Association (STELA).
The program was held via Facebook Live on FALCOM’s official Facebook page at 8.45 p.m. It was an effort to spread awareness about the crisis that is currently happening in Palestine. Around a hundred and fifty people joined the live session. The program started with a beautiful poem recitation by the members of KeRiSZ, then followed by greetings from Miss Aqilah Al Husna as the moderator. Then, the prayer recitation was led by Mr. Muhammad Hariz to pray for the smoothness of the program. The program once again welcomed the poetry recitation by Miss Fatin Maisarah and Mr. Ng Wei Hann, third-year students of Bachelor of English Language with Communication (BEN), with the latter being the current president of STELA.
The panelists invited for the program was Dr. Mohd Ala-Uddin bin Othman, a lecturer in UniSZA, followed by the second panel, the chairman of WARGA CAKNA, Dr. Suhazeli bin Abdullah and the guest, Madam Wala'a Ibraheim from Gaza, Palestine. At the beginning of the forum, Dr. Mohd Ala-Uddin answered the first question from the moderator on why we should continuously talk about the Palestine issue and its significance to Malaysians and Muslims worldwide. He firmly stated that Palestine's land belongs to the Muslims and how the Muslims should unite to protect one of the three holiest places for the Muslims. He quotes a hadith to support his stand.
Besides, Madam Wala'a Ibraheim, the special guest for the forum, also shared that she worked under the Hayat Yolu Organization and ran various projects that focused on aiding the Palestinians. She also described the Gaza situation as the most horrible from previous wars they encountered. She compared the 2014 attack that lasted for 50 days to be much more 'peaceful' than the 2021 attack that lasted for 11 days. At the end of this forum, she beseeched the audiences to help them by donating money for the younger generation's education, giving food supplies, donating clothes, and providing them with medicines as the Israeli Forces were cutting their supplies.
The forum closed the curtain through one last performance by Miss Sharifah Wardah, a member of STELA and a first-year student of Bachelor of English Language with Communication (BEN), with a song titled Brother in Arms. The forum ended with a few reminders and advice from Dr. Suhazeli and Dr. Mohd Ala-Uddin regarding the Palestine issues. It is hoped that the participants would gain benefits from the information shared in this forum.
