Just say sorry. Is it so hard to say sorry to your closest?
A single sorry wouldn’t make us apart.
Your ego stabs you from delivering it. Have you ever noticed that your words harm enough to slash a person's heart?
Those acts are miserable often leaving scars and wounds. It worsens ahead.
It’s easy to spit everything out in anger towards others; but when you’ve realised, the mistake was yours and can’t utter the word sorry towards the respective; You have regret for your actions; and still a sorry couldn't even be heard. Let it be who you are, how big in the profession, it doesn’t matter to others. All of us forgot the simple ethics that were taught from home and been a part of the syllabus in school. "Be sorry for your own cause and forgive others for their cause". It is easy for kids to accept it but hard for grown-up kids so-called ‘'elders'' to apply it.
The problem can be calmed down with a simple sorry rather than being stubborn. Uttering a simple sorry would break the long silence between us that we're going through till now.
I just wished that I could hear whispers of sorry from you. If that happens, then my life wouldn't drift away from you. Those miraculous words would heal my scar that aches with hatred and sadness. A sorry would pleasure my hate filled heart; the heart that gave many chances to hear that word from you. Saying out a simple sorry does not make you lose, or I win. It just resembles a peace of mind to both respective people.
That sorry would save my life.
‘' Could you please shut the door? '' reminded Rebecca.
Almost every argument would hear the sound of windows clashing, banging of doors shut, and loud footsteps walking ahead.
REBECCA, OH REBECCA, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?’’ Andrews hums softly.
He was so typical and started watching television. Meanwhile, Rebecca cooked dinner but in profound silence. She's trying to forget the incident that happened in the first argument. At dinner, Andrew explained the file was in the office desk and not in the house. He mistakenly scolded her for nothing and asked her to forget about it. All she hoped was at least a sorry. It would have given her aching heart some ease. But it was hopeless as Andrew knocked off earlier since he had an important meeting to attend tomorrow.
Another day passed with dead silence.
As usual, he went off to work. Rebecca was alone at home. She thought of going for a spa to freshen up her mind and heart. The only place that accompanies with joy and relaxation. She left a note for Andrew and went to the spa. After an hour later, she got back home and was shocked to see her husband back home early, and for sure he's not in a good mood. His eyes deeply stare towards her as sharp as a blade passing through her body. I thought it would be another cursed day to go through. He was so silent and didn't talk. His silence killed because it gave tons of worries.
Rebecca was wandering in the room. Within a few minutes, Andrew entered the room. He switched off the light and went to bed even though he was aware of her existence. He was antagonistic for the whole day. A wordless day and again, a silent night accompanied her.
Early morning, the sun shone through the slit between the faded curtains. Rebecca was awake and realised Andrew was not around. A sign of message couldn't be seen all over the house. She rang a few seconds, but the call was declined. She's clueless about the last night, and the reaction of her husband was so abnormal. She called his office, and the secretary informed that Andrew left work earlier. She started to worry about him. She grabbed her car keys immediately and looked for Andrew in his ordinary hangout places. She roamed aroud all the places, but even Andrew's shadow was not to be seen. The sky showed signs of dawn and rain drizzled slowly as her tears rolled down her cheeks. She went back home.
Clink…clink…clink…..
She rushed into the house as someone broke into their home. The small bits of glass pieces are shattered around all over the house.
Ouch!!!!!!... It hurts!!!. Rebecca shouted.
A small drop of blood dripped down her face due to the shattered parts of glass hitting her forehead. Her minor cut in her forehead triggered her. But she remained silent.
‘'Where the hell have you been?" Andrew yelled at her.
She stood silently with tears. ‘'You're so selfish and not even responsible for your actions. Because of you, my life is miserable. You do not even care the slightest bit about it. I’m at home and don’t even know where the hell you're hanging out.'' “ Can’t you see I’m earning hard to make our life happy?"
“It seems you're not getting what I'm going through right now” exaggerated Andrew. He left Rebecca home alone with those scars.
“Have you ever considered my feelings about it?” You don’t spare your time and give me a chance to explain what is really happening to me and us. Don't be so impulsive." Crooned Rebecca.
She just wanted to scream, but it won't help her out. She has to be very careful with her actions because she thinks that she has to give a second thought about another person. That person needs her the most. The small movement she senses in her stomach gave hope that she needed to be brave enough to continue living. No matter what she’s going through, the little one will soon come to protect her. She cleaned up the house and got back to her routine. She dressed her wound and went to the kitchen to make something for dinner.
She's busied herself so that she can forget the morning incident. Soon Andrew peeps out. He straightly went towards his room and freshened up himself. At the dining hall, Andrew breaks his silence by complimenting his wife that the food was so lovely. He was expecting a reply from Rebecca, but unfortunately, she didn’t utter a word.
He started a conversation about the meetings in his company and he turned out to be stressed as he's going through a lot with his company, and he was too exasperate towards her. He was overwhelmed with guilt. However, he refused to say sorry. The last word before getting off from the table ''just forget about that incident" It’s quite common.
All she's expecting was a sorry but still, it lead to disappointment.
How long will it keep going, and still I'm not mentioning anything about it to him. Soon if he finds out wouldn't it become another argument? Better let him know rather than waiting till my stomach looked bigger.
"Andrew, can we hang out for dinner?” asked Rebecca
"Ok. Sure and be ready at Seven". He replied
At the restaurant.
Both of them ordered their favourite dishes; and she opened up the news about her pregnancy to him. He was static for a moment and burst into laughter with happy tears. It was such a relief for Rebecca that he's not reacting aimlessly again.
Rebecca just said sorry for everything that caused him hurt and for not informing the good news earlier. He replied with a smile. They began to dine in.
Almost one week, Andrew was not at home. He's out for work. She was alone at home. Her days were spent watching movies and visiting her parents.
One week later.
Andrew got back home and surprised her with many gifts and chocolates. She welcomed him happily. Rebecca hoped that it could last forever. And expected Andrew will be like this forever and they can build a happy family together. But it only lasted for three months.
Andrew started his tantrums again and again. He let his anger out at Rebecca even though it wasn’t her fault. She’s just letting things go. Even small matters turned into a big quarrel. Rebecca couldn't take it as she needed care for her and the little one in her stomach.
Every quarrel left her with hurtful scars and pain. Saying sorry was hard for him. She was just counting days, for it would end soon. An ambulance rushed into the apartment. Rebecca was on the floor covered with blood. She was taken to the hospital.
Andrew rushed to the hospital. And she was admitted in the ICU ward. Few hours passed by and no results from the doctor. Andrew was so helpless and couldn’t move an inch from the front door of the ICU ward. He stood for so long that he could feel the numbness in his legs.
Soon the doctor came out from the ward. He told him that they couldn't save the baby. His wife was still unconscious. He was shook with tears filing his eyes, and his body was trembling. He couldn't accept the fact that he was so careless and that Rebecca wouldn’t forgive him for sure. Rebecca gained conscious and opened up her eyes slowly. She saw her parents and her friends surrounded her.
SORRY….. SORR…. SORRY…….SORRY. Why is it always easy asking forgiveness from strangers and so hard to say sorry to your loved ones. Bear in mind that a sorry can’t put things back to normal but it can make your bond healthy. It can be anyone dear to you. Don't let your close ones leave you due to your own stubbornness. The pain of leaving someone is most unbearable. Don’t give that pain to others.
